Job Title:  Data Architect

Location:  Barrow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. 

Salary: circa £50,000

 

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Support the implementation of the data strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and the wider enterprise architecture
  • Manage and maintain data architecture using TOGAF industry standard framework to support current and future business needs
  • Develops, maintains, and optimises data models, ensuring they support the organisations data architecture and business requirements
  • Enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and frameworks to ensure data integrity, advising the business functions, programmes and projects on data ownership and data stewardship practices
  • Engage with stakeholders from the business functions and programmes to advise on data management best practice, ensuring alignment to data architecture, and data governance policies and standards
  • Support the business and programmes on the implementation of data management processes, collaborating with BAE Group IM&T, and Maritime Sector to embellish the wider data enterprise architecture and ensure alignment across the business to group standards

Your skills and experiences: 

ESSENTIAL:

  • Ability to utilise data management frameworks and standards to create and manage effective data governance programs 
  • Proficient in the use of modelling tools, and languages to design, create, and maintain data models that meet business requirements 
  • Presentation skills with ability to articulate and deliver key messages to various stakeholders, including leadership

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience applying enterprise architecture frameworks to develop and implement comprehensive data architectures (ideally TOGAF)

The Product Fulfilment Architecture team: 

Exciting opportunity to join a team of Architects aligned to the delivery of the Portland Walk Campus programme of work within our Learning and Development function.

The role will provide an opportunity to develop your career within BAE Systems with exposure gained across multiple functions along with opportunities to assist other architecture disciplines and learn new skillsets. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
