Program Director – BAE Systems Digital Intelligence

Digital Intelligence is part of BAE Systems PLC, the global Defence and Security Company and have around 5000 employees in 16 countries across UK & Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Australia & New Zealand. BAE Systems Digital Intelligence focuses on two primary sectors: Defence (and its supply chains), and National Security (including law enforcement), as well as providing services across State / Federal Government and the Critical national Infrastructure (CNI). As a member of our Digital Intelligence (Australia) business unit, you’ll truly get to work on some of the most challenging cyber security problems in the world.

As part of our continued growth, Digital Intelligence (Australia) is looking for a new Program Director, who will take overall responsibility for a new unique and diverse program to enhance cyber security capacity and capability across the APAC region. You must be capable of managing a large, complex, multi-faceted program; managing complex governance arrangements; building meaningful and productive relationships with a diverse stakeholder community; managing a diverse supply chain; and delivering the program to cost, time and quality.

You will be accountable to the Digital Intelligence (Australia) Head of Operations & Delivery for successful delivery of the program.

 

​​​​​The Role:

  • Initiate, Mobilise, Design, Develop, and Deliver the overall Capacity Building Program
  • Manage the programme within the Digital Intelligence Lifecycle Management Framework governance process
  • Develop and Manage key stakeholder relationships with clients, sponsors, partners and BAE Systems Group
  • Continue to drive value and innovation within the programme by writing white papers, creating informal propositions, etc to stimulate customer and sponsor interests
  • Take full responsibility for the definition, documentation and satisfactory completion of a portfolio of medium complexity projects, delivered by a variety of sub-contracting organisations in the relevant countries, (e.g. up to 12 months in duration, with direct business impact, up to a medium sized team and firm deadlines)
  • Provide effective leadership to the delivery team and suppliers, and take appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the Client and have day to day accountability for the delivery of the project portfolio
  • Contribute towards business winning activities for new or extended work, within or related to the scope of the project, program or portfolio
  • Work with our Communications & Marketing team to support program goals
  • Collaborate with teams across Digital Intelligence to achieve program objectives

 

 The Person:

  • An exceptionally experienced Program Director, with a background in business change programs
  • Someone who is passionate about Defence & National Security, and raising cyber security awareness at all levels
  • A well-developed ability to engage and empathise with our key customers, building upon their own existing well-established network across our lines of business
  • Ability to grasp our portfolio management and assurance processes, tools and governance and operate them effectively
  • A natural team player, who will work across internal Digital Intelligence teams around the globe to make things happen
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, building new and productive relationships with a variety of types of people and skillsets, from program managers in government agencies to cyber consultants in other countries.
  • Extensive experience of managing a diverse, and remote, supply chain
  • A forensic approach to program management ensuring that delivery, finance, risk, resources are all effectively managed and reported on in a clear and transparent fashion.
  • A natural team leader who can bring cohesion, focus and drive to the program management team, and its suppliers

 

This role will be Canberra (ACT) based with regular regional travel, and a minimum of NV1 clearance required. An Australian national, or citizen is highly desirable.
