Job Title: Cost Management Professional

Salary: Circa £48,000 depending on skills and experiences

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Maintain cost account systems, procedures, processes and practices to track OpEx costs and ensure compliance with those internal procedures
  • Monitor and analyse variances between monthly, quarterly and annual and forecasted budgeted expenses with internal and external teams
  • Identify and support the implementation of cost savings and efficiencies within the budget
  • Provide financial guidance and support to sub-cost account teams that make up the overall Product Group budget
  • Progress risk and opportunity identification, assessment, cost and risk mitigation plans for services outside of the formal budget
  • Prepare and articulate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for senior management

Your skills and experiences

Essential:

  • Proven experience in Cost Account Management, Financial Planning or Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of risk management in relation to cost planning and forecasting
  • A relevant vocational qualification (e.g. HNC, Prince2 Foundation, or equivalent experience)

Desirable:

  • Solid understanding of ITIL4 frameworks and principles
  • Experience of supporting or working within an IT function, ideally within large, complex environments

You will be joining us in the IT Function within BAE Systems Submarines and your role will play critical part of a new ‘Intelligent Customer’ Team that will lead the IT relationship lead into the wider BAE Systems group and Submarine business unit.
