What you’ll be doing:
- Providing simulator-based emergency handling and aircraft systems training to Operational Conversion Unit (OCU), Test and Evaluation Squadron (TES) and Front-Line Typhoon pilots
- Performing the duties of a Tow Pilot, acting as formation lead to enable the completion of OPCON syllabus events in support of QFI instruction. This may include QSFI-CIP instruction from within the cockpit
- Working outside of core Company hours as required to support the 29 Sqn task in accordance with the TyTAN contract
- Maintaining the knowledge and instructional standards required of a Typhoon QFI
- Providing high quality training support, to include role playing (GCI/JTAC/Red Air), operating synthetic devices and any other activity required under the TyTAN contract to support Typhoon Pilot Training. To produce accurate, objective and well-reasoned subjective assessments of student performance, and accompanying written reports
- Delivering high quality ground school training in accordance with the GFx provided syllabi, acting as SME for technical systems as allocated by the TTF ATM and maintenance of relevant lecture material iaw with DSAT requirements
- Instilling and maintaining a strong Air Safety culture throughout the TTF
- Providing subject matter expertise to any incident or accident investigation including reconstruction of events in synthetic training devices when required
Your skills and experiences:
- Former RAF Typhoon QFI/QWI (qualified flying instructor/qualified weapons instructor)
- In depth knowledge of Typhoon aircraft and Customer training structure and processes (DSAT)
- Understanding of Customer synthetic training needs and utilization of synthetic training requirements
- Understanding of Typhoon operations and weapons systems
- Maintaining currency and knowledge of RAF Typhoon Force and Squadron SOPs, and Front-Line Typhoon and relevant threat tactics and doctrines
- Understanding of the RAF Air Safety system

Opportunity to join a dynamic and highly respected team at the heart of the Typhoon community. Providing quality instruction to the next generation of RAF fighter pilots.
Our team is involved in performing the duties required of a Central Flying School (CFS) ratified QSFI-CIP, providing professional academic and synthetic aircrew instruction to trainee pilots undertaking the Typhoon Operational Conversion (OPCON) course. To deliver, enable and/or support Front Line training within the Typhoon Training Facility in support of the TyTAN contract.
