Job Title: Combat Systems Functional Integration Engineer
Location: Scotstoun Alternative Locations: Filton and Portsmouth
Salary: Up to £63,165 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
· Lead a team of integration engineers to act as the primary integration representatives with each delivery team, providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure that outputs from the supplier programmes will deliver the required input for the integration programmes
· Proactively assess the forward integration programme to estimate the work required to be undertaken by the team and monitor progress towards key milestones
· Design and development of integration strategies, trials requirements and trials plans for land based testing, harbour trials and sea trials for each system
· Observe the conduct of integration activities, where specified in the CS Integration Strategy, and collate evidence to contribute to achievement of CS acceptance
· Ensure that the collection of trials data will satisfy requirements set as assurance /acceptance milestones and the evidence required to clear the vessel for going to sea
· Develop and support the build and/or capability upgrade/insertion activities for designated equipment in the T26 Land Based Integration Facility (LBIF) and onboard
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
· Experience in engineering or a defence related industry
· Good working experience in more than one phase of Life Cycle Management, with sufficient experience of the total LCM to enable a good understanding of adjacent phases and through life engineering issues
· Proven track record of leading effort in functional integration, interface management, trials planning and understanding how Systems of Systems thinking applies to Combat System integration and trials in the maritime
· Ability to generate Integration Strategies and Trials documentation from Requirements, Interface Specifications and other Supplier
Desirable:
· Knowledge of Def-Stan 21-88 implementation and risk based integration approach
· Knowledge of the Type 23, Type 45 Destroyer Combat System, CVF Mission System, or similar, and their integration approaches
· Understanding of the need to capture and maintain data generated for use by the project and the tools and techniques so used, particularly database centric toolsets
· Appreciation of wider RN platform design and principles of operation
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Integration Test and Trials Team – T26 programme Team:
In this role you will provide technical leadership and guidance as the team lead for T26 Combat System (CS) Functional Integration, monitoring the team outputs to ensure they meet the needs of the programme.
Design and development of integration strategies, trials requirements and trials plans for land based testing, Ship harbour trials and sea trials, ensuring that demonstration of formal requirements and exercising of system behaviour are all suitably covered
