Job Title: Business Administrator
Location: Govan
Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Undertake a range of administrative activities e.g. schedule creation and maintenance, processing of tasks and input to relevant IT system, claiming of materials, printing, ad hoc support to enable Supervisors
- Plan, prioritise, co-ordinate and respond effectively to enquiries, ad hoc requirements in the ship build environment to aid fabrication
- Pro-active support to ensure smooth running of the office area and support the associated supervisors by having adequate resources available and processing accordingly e.g. Take 5 books available and printing of drawings, hotwork permits, team cascade information (toolbox talks), lift plans and by adhering to associated Processes and Procedures to ensure due diligence is maintained
- Responsible for the office Safety plan and associated standards inclusive of general office maintenance, office walk rounds achieved in line with plan, printers are ready for use, stationary/paper is available and escalating any issues if required
- Collaborative working and engagement with key stakeholders
- Communicating in an efficient and polite manner with internal and occasionally external stakeholders and supporting area visits and the onboarding requirements for new personnel within the area
Your skills and experiences:
- Excellent administrative skills and competent in the use of MS Office; particularly Word, Outlook and Excel
- Competent in the use of a range of IT systems and databases with the ability to input information, run reports and present information
- Good organisational, time and workload management skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver effectively using judgement and experience to support this
- Competent numerical ability with the confidence in calculating percentages and working with figures

The Business Support function:
The Business Administration team for the fabrication facility who work on the Type 26 Programme are based in Govan and play a pivotal role in enabling the supervisor and management population in their day to day in the ship build environment. There will be 2 administrators within this facility which means every day requires agile and pro-active behaviours to enable the wider team achieve their daily targets and goals in this dynamic environment. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge, support the team in the journey of digitalisation and be welcomed to bring fresh ideas and share ways of working to enable continual improvement in the local team and wider Business Support function.
