Salary: Up to £41,400 (dependent on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Bill of Material Management: Assist in the overall co-ordination of the Bill of Material (BoM)
- Process Engineering Product Change in line with the Engineering Delivery Plan
- Working with the Change Team to assist in implementation of authorised changes to the programme’s BoM
- Assist in setting out the Bill of Material and Data Management processes aligning with programme specific requirements
- Liaise and collaborate with the Engineering, Supply Chain and IT teams deployed to support the BOM solution
- Assist in development and delivery of key BOM quality indicators / metrics
- Provide guidance, training and support to applicable programme team members working with the BOM and wider project guidance to ensure effective BOM Management
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience in PLM and Data processes and systems
- Knowledge and understanding of Bill of Materials Structures
- Experience of working within Engineering product change
- Experience of processing large data sets and maintaining data quality
Desirable:
- Experience working within Shipbuilding
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution.
Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered

The BoM Management Team:
The River Class Destroyer Programme offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of naval engineering. This role places you at the heart of BoM Management, specialising in the Implementation of the Engineering & Planning Bill of Materials. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams, integrating cutting-edge tools such as, PDM, PLM and ERM, while providing technical support across various domains. Working alongside talented Senior and Principal Engineers, you’ll help support the development of the BoM within the PLM tool set. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will develop your knowledge of Engineering fundamentals, Engineering Bill of Materials and Engineering Change with exposure to exciting ship building programmes within BAE Systems. The role along with Career progression offers the opportunity to obtain Engineering accreditation to further expand your expertise in this field.
