Azure Platform Engineer – Leeds (hybrid working)

About the role

Are you self-motivated to find innovative solutions to complex challenges as part of a team who help keep the UK safe?  We are growing our DevOps capability in Leeds and are interested in hearing from Platform and DevOps Engineers at all career levels.
 
You’ll play a key role within empowered, autonomous DevOps teams to flexibly and efficiently design, develop, deploy and maintain applications and services. Working with our customers to build systems that support their mission you’ll be encouraged to identify new ways of solving problems. You will work in a small team and will be given as much ownership and responsibility as you have the appetite for; whilst being part of a large Engineering community that can give you the support that you want in order to expand your knowledge and capabilities.

Security Clearance is required for this role, if you are not currently Security Cleared, you will need to be eligible for this and willing to go through the clearance process.

About you

You will have experience of working in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role with Azure technology. Excellent communication and problem solving skills are vital in this role, as is a desire to learn new technologies.

In addition you will have:

• An appreciation of Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD tooling such as Terraform, Cloud formation, CDK
• Scripting abilities with languages such as Shell, Bash, Python, JavaScript or Typescript
• A working knowledge of Linux, networking, routing & firewalls 
• Experience of working in an Agile environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP)
   

It would be great if you also had experience in some of the following, but if not we’ll help you with developing those skills:

• Configuration Management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
• Other cloud technologies such as  AWS, Codecommit, API Gateway, Lambda
