JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this job is to support the flying programme at King Faisal Air Academy (KFAA) by ensuring the efficient accomplishment of OAT Training aircraft for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and that work is carried out in a managed and controlled manner and in accordance with all applicable technical data. The achievement of this primary goal is realised through the effective direction & motivation of their team and through good, effective liaison with other departments. Provides On the Job Training (OJT) function and task certification. Also to delegate, supervise, monitor and expedite Intermediate maintenance activities being carried out on OAT Training Aircraft platforms. Responsible for the management and control of section maintenance tasks and assigned manpower, to ensure the efficient completion of scheduled, non-scheduled, aircraft maintenance and section support tasks.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To provide technical specialty support in the: evaluation, interpretation, determinations of requisite corrective actions, performance and operational status of specialty specific aircraft systems and components.
- Responsible for supporting the Maintenance Squadron, ensuring the shift organization can meet task requirements and for maintaining close liaison with maintenance Operations Control, Quality Department and Intermediate Maintenance to prioritise and progress aircraft work.
- Provide support as necessary to TAGF Operations, aircrew assistance, airfield recovery, crash recovery and be fully conversant with Aircrew Debrief procedures. Must provide every assistance towards aircraft maintenance activities, to fully support the OAT flying schedule.
- Responsible for the management, supervision and training of assigned manpower. Ensuring assigned maintenance technicians are fully trained and certified to accomplish assigned tasks. Accountable for section tool control procedures and section technical publication sub-section.
- To provide informal and formal On the Job Training (OJT) for all personnel to enable either RSAF or civilian Saudisation of Intermediate Maintenance operations.
- Able to acquire user expertise and become conversant with the RSAF aircraft data management and tracking computer system –MIRO Gold.
- Able to understand and comply with the RSAF Safety and Foreign Object Programme.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Qualifications: National civilian / military equivalent recognised aircraft maintenance traineeship / apprenticeship
- Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type
- Must be trained in aircraft engineering or a related technical discipline at a civilian or military school of technical training, or have completed an appropriate engineering apprenticeship
- Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS and thorough understanding of M&CA mandates and processes.
- Be able to motivate people in a mixed EE/SN workforce
- Must be able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues
- Support the Superintendents in the assigned work areas during periods of absence by the incumbent.
- Have current knowledge and experience associated with aircraft maintenance, quality assurance, logistical support, and repairable asset management
- Computer literacy is essential, with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, GOLDesp and DMS systems.
- A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to their work area
- An understanding of the RSAF Operation and working practices
- Have completed appropriate Aircraft Systems specific Training course and completed suitable OJT qualification.
- Hold certification privileges for Maintenance Red X release and aircraft tow team Supervisor/driver.
