Job Description
Job title: Assistant Project Leader – Designer Management (Mechanical)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements
Salary: £38,734+, depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
· In this role you will support the Dreadnought programme in delivering to schedule, cost, safety and quality
· You will be responsible for the 3D integration of routed systems (Pipe & HVAC) and equipment’s as well outputs e.g. 2D diagrams, installation drawings, part lists and BoM maturity etc
· Supporting and leading a team of Designers who will have different levels of experience and knowledge across the Submarine business
· Responsible for the development of members of your team in your people management hierarchy e.g. PDR’s, PDP, Quality / Code of Conduct discussions and training needs etc
· Collaborating with all stakeholder groups to solve problems and drive solutions between design requirements, spatial constraints, build and operability
Your skills and experiences:
· Have an understanding of Pipe and or HVAC routed systems as well integration of Mechanical Compartments within your area
· Engineering or Designer / Draughtspersons background
· Understanding of CAD modelling techniques and PLM toolsets e.g. Teamcenter

The Design Management team:
As an Assistant Project Leader you will report to and provide support to the Project Leader in delivering Designer tasks / outputs in line with programme demands such as 2D and 3D piping routes in the integrated CAD model.
