Job title: Assistant Project Accountant

Salary: £41,361+ (Depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- You will support in the production of timely insights, analysis and business intelligence to drive performance. Support timely working capital cycle for projects
- You will be assisting in the delivery of accurate month end management reporting, on time, including; Project reporting outputs, Monthly management reporting with analysis and insights analysing in-year financial performance
- You are going to support project teams on whole life of projects, including initial setup, forecasting, trading, reporting and analysis, and closure
- You will operate robust and effective financial controls in line with Financial Control Framework and Finance Policies manual and support external and internal audit as required
- You are going to contribute towards identifying and delivering improvements to processes within Project Finance
- You will also be contributing towards system improvements and embrace change towards a data-centric and digital culture
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Part Qualified CIMA, ACA, ACCA (AAT will not be accepted)
- Good interpersonal skills and communication skills,
- Ability to reprioritise to meet key deadlines,
- Advanced Excel
Desirable:
- Project accounting experience preferable
- Planning & Analytics, LN or SAP experience would be beneficial

The Project Finance Capability Centre Team:
The Finance team, consisting of approximately 130 staff members, provides essential Project Finance support to Contracts across the Air portfolio. At BAE Systems, the Finance team is deeply integrated within the multi-functional Project Teams, working collaboratively to maximise efficiency and outcomes. This role involves not just delivering financial information but actively contributing to the team’s overall success.
