Role Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for an Architecture Analyst within AUKUS BU based in Adelaide.

The Architecture Analyst supports the architecture practice in shaping, analysing, and documenting solution outcomes in a complex program environment. The role is suited to someone who can work effectively through early program uncertainty, reconcile conflicting stakeholder needs, structure ambiguous problems, and contribute to architecture artefacts and decision-making.

This role is not just about documentation. It is about helping bring clarity to complex problems, supporting option analysis, building stakeholder relationships, and contributing to Solution Architecture Documents (SADs) and related architecture outputs.

The role requires a person who is proactive, structured, collaborative, and comfortable working without perfect information.

Core Duties:

  • Break down complex business and technology problems into clear components.
  • Help turn ambiguous needs into structured problem statements and analysis inputs
  • Support the architecture team in framing the right questions before jumping to solutions
  • Engage with business, delivery, technical, and program stakeholders to gather viewpoints and clarify needs.
  • Analyse and compare potential solution options against business needs, constraints, risks, and delivery practicality
  • Support development of solution options papers, decision packs, and recommendation material.
  • Help document option pros/cons, assumptions, and impacts in a structured and balanced way.
  • Contribute to traceability between problem, options, decision, and architectural direction.
  • Support the architecture lead in progressing work through investigation, planning, and design phases
  • Assist in preparing material for architecture reviews and governance forums

About You

  • Experience in an architecture, business analysis, systems analysis, project delivery, or similar role
  • Experience working in complex enterprise or program environments
  • Experience producing structured analysis or design documentation
  • Experience working with solution architects, enterprise architects, or technical design teams
  • Exposure to architecture methods, frameworks, or documentation practices
  • Familiarity with architecture artefacts such as SADs, option papers, context diagrams, integration views, or decision logs
  • Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline [Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.

In early 2024, the Australian Government selected BAE Systems and ASC Pty Ltd to build Australia’s new fleet of nuclear-powered submarines in a significant development in the AUKUS trilateral security pact between the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
