Salary: £33,807 + shift allowance

Job Description:
Your role involves safely operating forklifts to move loads, preparing jobs for processing, and identifying and reporting any damaged equipment. You will be responsible for using lifting equipment in line with safety standards and lift plans, positioning loads with cranes or portable equipment, and loading/unloading items into the blast chamber. The position also includes mobile workshop duties, working on-site to maintain and repair LEV systems.
Core duties:
- Carrying out filter extraction work (LEV) while ensuring all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and free from contaminants
- Safely moving loads to and from facilities, using a forklift
- Safely using all lifting equipment and accessories in accordance with manufacturers guidance and the lift plan
- Positioning of moving and lifting equipment and loads using cranes or portable lifting equipment
- Ensuring the job is ready to go into process
- Identifying and recording damaged equipment
- Loading and unloading items into the blast chamber
- Operating a mobile workshop vehicle to carry out on-site LEV maintenance and repairs
Essential Skills:
- Ability to work in a confined space
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work at height
- Working alone and as a small team
- Full UK driving license
- LEV experience would be advantageous
The Plant Maintenance Team:
This role offers opportunities for progression, including the chance to take on leadership responsibilities and develop into a team-leading position. You will receive training in filter-related work, gaining valuable technical skills, while also benefiting from broad exposure to different areas of the business. Working across the entire BAE site, the position provides varied experience and the opportunity to build a well-rounded understanding of operations.
