Responsibilities
· To include, but not limited to:
· On behalf of the 11th FW Cdr, the job holder is responsible for:
· The standardisation and evaluation of all Tornado operations, ensuring best flying practice across the Flying Wing iaw RSAF Vol 1 and Vol 4.
· Ensuring maximum operational effectiveness through strong leadership, good communication, effective monitoring and exemplary personal example.
· Recommending and then implementing required changes within the current RSAF Directives and Aircrew Standardisation and Evaluation Programme to ensure best use of RSAF aircraft and ground training assets.
· Identification and rectification of any areas of weakness within the Tornado documentation available to the RSAF operations organisation, ensuring 11th FW aircrew have the best possible advice and guidance.
· Acting as the senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Tornado Operations, working directly for the 11th FW Chief of Staneval
· Providing advice and assistance to senior RSAF officers from RSAF HQ and the 11th FW on all matters relating to the Tornado weapons system and associated systems and current and future armaments and munitions.
· Delivering a structured program of Standardization and Evaluation in accordance with (IAW) RSAF Manual Directives and the RSAF Aircrew Standardization and Evaluation Programme (ASEP).
· Design, production, implementation and update of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the Tactics Manual and the associated computer briefing system for all Tornado Squadrons.
· Conducting semi-annual formal inspections of each Tornado Squadron and the Full Mission Simulator (FMS). These inspections are to include ground and airborne evaluations of aircrew (pilots and WSOs) of all experience levels, from which areas of weakness are to be identified, and reported, with an action plan to implement the required changes to operations.
· Production and maintenance of computer based Master Question Bank for use across the 11th FW in airborne and ground evaluations.
Job Requirements:
· Essential :
· An above average Instructor with a minimum of 1500 Hours GR1/4 Tornado experience.
· A minimum of 3 years qualified as Competent to Instruct on Tornado IDS/GR1/4 aircraft.
· Minimum of 2 years experience as an instructor on an RSAF operational or training Squadron.
· Have experience of syllabus design, production, implementation, and review.
· Have experience of production of Staneval aircrew directives (e.g. RSAF Manuals, SOPs).
· Experience in the identification of Risk, airworthiness issues and the promotion of flight safety awareness.
