Job title: Aerospace Engineer – Missions Systems

Location: Warton/Samlesbury – This role will require you to work on site at either our Warton or Samlesbury sites in Lancashire for most of the week. At your line manager’s discretion, there will be the opportunity to work from home up to 2 days per week.

Salary: £35,047 – £45,154 dependent on skills and experience

We are looking for STEM graduates to join BAE Systems Air’s rapidly growing Mission Systems teams to work on the world’s leading fast jet aircraft and help shape the future of air defence.

What you’ll be doing:

Our Mission Systems teams spearhead development of new capability through:

• Composing system and sub-system technical requirements
• Designing system architectures and modelling performance using simulations
• Collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams including Software, Mechanical Engineering, Design and Electronics to meet requirements
• Critically analysing problems and proposing bold solutions to challenges
• You could be working on aircraft systems such as Cockpit Controls, Navigation Systems, Weapons Integration, Advanced Sensing and Helmet Mounted Displays

Your skills and experiences:

• A degree in a relevant STEM subject
• Notable Post-Education Experience in an engineering or technology role
• Experience with systems engineering toolsets (e.g. MATLAB, Simulink, Cameo, IBM DOORS, PLM Teamcenter)
• Eagerness to learn and develop Mission Systems knowledge
• A proactive attitude to getting involved with innovative projects
