Job Title: Modelling & Architecture Specialist (Edgewing)

Location: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems Air site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. There is a Hybrid Working Policy in place at Edgewing – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Job Description:

The Modelling & Architecture Specialist supports the development, refinement, and maintenance of system architectures and models within a structured systems engineering environment. The role contributes to creating functional and logical architectures, ensuring interface clarity, requirements traceability, and coherent model evolution throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Core duties:

• Develop and update system models to support functional and logical architecture definition, ensuring accurate requirements traceability and interface representation
• Produce modelling artefacts (diagrams, logical flows, interface definitions) in alignment with programme engineering guidelines and modelling standards
• Support integration activities by collaborating with engineering domains and international partners to confirm interface consistency and system-level coherence
• Assist in preparing technical assessments, options analyses, and supporting documentation to inform engineering decisions
• Maintain configuration control of models and architecture artefacts, ensuring adherence to engineering governance and change management processes
• Capture and report risks, issues, and deviations related to modelling accuracy or architecture alignment, escalating where appropriate
• Contribute to continuous improvement of modelling practices and support the adoption of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods across the organisation

Essential Skills:

• Experience developing system models using tools such as Cameo, Capella, Rhapsody, or similar MBSE environments
• Working knowledge of systems engineering principles including requirements management, interface analysis, and architecture decomposition
• Ability to produce structured technical documentation and support technical assessments
