JOB PURPOSE 

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Job Holder reports to the BAESAI Director of Engineering, applies product safety, environmental and product security expertise to BAESAI products and service solutions. They will provide product integrity leadership to the BAESAI Engineering community to ensure customer solutions are developed and maintained acceptably safe.

 

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

·        Act as BAESAI product integrity (Product Safety, Product Security & Environmental) management primary point of contact across all projects.

·        Assure the documenting, development and maintaining of BAESAI product integrity Management Systems for application reflecting the BAESSA and corporate product integrity policies.

·        Deploying the product integrity Management System for use within all delivery streams in accordance with the corporate product integrity Management System policies and processes defined in the BAES OF.

·        Provide evidence to the Engineering Authority, demonstrating that BAESAI Product Safety, product security & Environmental Management Systems are applied within all delivery streams for projects, complies with the Corporate Product Integrity policies and is under effective control. (Provide OAS, EAS and QBR Returns).

·        Act as the independent SME advisor to BAESAI Management Reviews of product safety, product security and environmental issues.

·        Lead, manage and/or co-ordinate independent safety, security and environmental assurance audit activities to ensure that safety, security and environmental management processes are being implemented in an effective manner within all projects.

·        Represent BAESAI on the BAESSA and Corporate Product Integrity working groups/other forums.

·        Provide support and direction on Safety, Security and Environmental matters (including review of supplier safety, security and environmental management plans and deliverables).

·        Prepare and deliver product integrity training (including the delivery of EDY 2.5 and 2.6) to staff in BAESAI as required.

·        Establish capability and mechanisms to identify and monitor emerging legislation and disseminate as necessary across BAESAI to delivery streams.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

·        Ideally educated to Engineering degree level (or equivalent in an Aviation environment i.e. Successful completion of a national civilian / military equivalent recognised traineeship / apprenticeship).

·        Extensive experience within Air, Land or Sea Engineering organisations.

·        Practical experience in aircraft and/or naval/maritime engineering, quality, safety and product integrity management systems.

·        Practical experience of conducting internal/external audits

·        Be fluent in English (minimum IELTS 6.5 for a Saudi post holder).

·        Knowledge of design organisation safety, airworthiness or naval engineering process and procedures.

·        Thorough understanding of the application of engineering Life Cycle Management in order to develop an Overall Training solution.

·        Understanding of LCM, Project Management, Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, Safety Management, Export Controls/ITARS managing sub-contractors, procurement, supplier selection and approval.

·        Producing detailed requirement specifications and translating these into detailed Statement of Requirements (SoR) for use by BAESAI in the creation of fit for purpose product integrity.
