Role Description:
We have a great opportunity for an Engineering Team Lead : Supportability/Reliability Engineering to provide leadership and their technical expertise within our Maritime Sustainment business on the newest ship platform, the Hobart Class DDG naval ships. Reporting to the Engineering Assurance Manager, you will be employed on a permanent full time basis and will be situated at Garden Island (Potts Point), Sydney.

Core Duties:
- Plan, manage and execute the delivery of supportability/reliability engineering activities
- Provide leadership to a small engineering team, coach and develop personnel, ensuring services provided meet business objectives
- Oversee, provide direction and support in the development of supportability/reliability engineering activities
- Act as a point of contact and provide supportability/reliability engineering advice to the customer and other key internal and external stakeholders
- Identify and investigate supportability/reliability engineering problems and risks, formulating strategies for their resolution
- Act as the design acceptance representative for the supportability/reliability engineering activities
- Drive culture of supportability engineering best practice, efficiency and continuous improvement
About You
- Knowledge of systems engineering, good problem-solving skills and self-motivation
- Extensive supportability/reliability engineering or IPS/ILS logistic engineering experience
- Experience with Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- People leadership experience with the ability to provide guidance, direction and motivation to the team
- Good customer and subcontractor management skills, and the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of systems engineering, good problem solving skills and self-motivation – desirable
- Defence Clearance or ability to obtain
The DDG Team
BAE Systems Australia’s maritime workforce built and lead the sustainment of the Royal Australian Navy’s three Hobart class air warfare destroyers — HMAS Hobart, HMAS Brisbane, and HMAS Sydney. The Hobart Class AED’s carry a helicopter for surveillance, conduct surface and undersea warfare and carry naval gunfire capabilities. As Managing Contractor – Destroyer Enterprise, we led the transition into service for each ship.
