Job Description:
You’ll be developing and leading key elements of the Digital & Data portfolio and roadmap for the Submarines Supply Chain across all programmes, carrying out business and technical analysis to shape data and digital solutions for the Supply Chain function, and working closely with stakeholders across IM&T and submarine delivery programmes to ensure alignment, engagement, and effective delivery.
Core duties:
- Acting as key point of contact for Digital & Data discussions held between Submarines SCM, IM&T, other functions & programmes, BAE Group, sector and divisions
- Identifying the optimal digital change to improve the performance of the Supply Chain function, alongside that of the wider submarine delivery programme, guiding small project teams to deliver such solutions
- Supporting the introduction of technical change governance and process to improve overall systems reliability and function
- Managing a small team of direct reports, whilst influencing a wider team of stakeholders and mentees engaged in the delivery of Submarines Digital and Data initiatives
- Contributing to Supply Chain Excellence by supporting activities that deliver on People, Process & Technology, ensuring the Supply Chain function is fit for the future
Essential Skills:
- Exposure and delivery of Digital & Data Projects and Programmes would be highly advantageous, including previous experience scoping and developing IT & Technology strategies and implementation.
- Significant recent experience leading digital & data initiatives across a range of emerging technologies
- Experience performing technical analysis, alongside a good working knowledge of data & digital solutions including ERP, Database, Reporting & Web based applications
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to produce high level briefing packages
- Professional Supply Chain or Project Management qualifications (eg CIPS or APM) or equivalent by experience
The Supply Chain Digital & Data team:
This role sits within the Supply Chain Excellence team, delivering Data & Digital solutions that enhance efficiency, eliminate duplication, and support best‑practice change. Working in a fast‑paced environment, you’ll gain varied development opportunities across BAE. You’ll collaborate with a diverse team to provide essential capability for the Supply Chain function and contribute to the UK’s National Defence Programme. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
