Job Title: IM&T Enterprise Business Architect
Location: Frimley, London, Leeds, Gloucester, Gt Baddow – hybrid
We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
What you’ll be doing
As an Enterprise Business Architect, you will define and own the future-state architecture for Digital Intelligence, ensuring it aligns with the IM&T vision and delivers measurable business outcomes such as agility, resilience, cost efficiency, and risk reduction. You will author and steward strategic principles—including cloud-first, low integration complexity, and zero trust—and embed them into governance through a robust decision-making rubric.
You will design and maintain the Target-State Architecture, covering capabilities, applications, data domains, integrations, and technology platforms, and produce transition architectures and sequenced roadmaps that balance risk, cost, and delivery pragmatism. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you will shape investment decisions, lead benefit cases for architectural change, and ensure programmes can evidence benefits realisation through KPIs and value maps.
In addition, you will chair or co-chair Architecture Review Boards, approve standards exceptions with bounded risk, and uplift the architecture practice by setting modelling standards, mentoring peers, and ensuring evidence-linked modelling quality. You will collaborate with the Chief Enterprise Architect, Head of Technology Strategy, and stakeholders across engineering, operations, security, and compliance to embed the target vision into delivery and operations—creating a secure, resilient, and insight-led digital estate
Your skills and experiences
Essential:
- Extensive experience as a Business or Enterprise Architect shaping future-state architectures in large, regulated environments.
- Proven leadership in architecture governance, standards stewardship, and investment influence.
- Expertise in business capability modelling, portfolio and roadmap planning, and value mapping.
- Deep understanding of cloud strategy, data governance, integration patterns, cybersecurity, and risk management.
- Ability to translate complex technical and business concepts into clear, senior-level narratives and visualisations.
- Strong proficiency with EA tooling (e.g., Bizzdesign) and disciplined meta-model practices, ensuring evidence-linked modelling.
- Exceptional stakeholder leadership across business, engineering, operations, security, compliance, and finance.
- Proficiency with AI Assisted Tooling
- Minimum SC clearance; DV may be required.
Desirable:
- Experience with ServiceNow CMDB/API catalogues, AWS/Azure reference architectures, and zero trust patterns.
- Professional certifications such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or BCS Enterprise Architecture
