Contingent/Casual positions with full-time hours available – Hourly base rate of $61.81
Please note, if successful you will be employed by Randstad PTY LTD and working on-site at Osborne for BAE Systems.
Role Description:
We have a new opportunity for Electricians to join our Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program based at Osborne.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9 day fortnight
Core Duties:
- Carry out tasks both on-board the Naval Vessel and also within a workshop environment
- Undertake tasks as described within Electrical Job Cards and complete associated documentation to capture job progress
- Ensure time keeping accuracy by booking to correct Job Cards
- Interpret and utilize electrical technical drawings
- Comply with required Quality and Technical directions contained within Job Card Work scopes and Process Instructions
- Ensure that all equipment and areas used are maintained in a safe and organised manner
- Understand and abide by Safety Policies and associated documentation such as Take 5, Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments and help to create a safe working environment for all employees
- Work on tasks as part of a workgroup and also individually
- Work with Apprentices and oversee their skills and development as appropriate
- Interaction with other Trade Groups and Business Functions to enable delivery of the Program
- Undertake training as deemed appropriate for the role
Essential Skills:
- Trade certificate III Electro technology Electrician
- Hold and maintain an Australian Electrical Licence and any appropriate licencing for the equipment used and tasks performed within the shipyard
- Demonstrated experience as an electrical tradesperson
- Must be eligible to apply for Australian Defence Security Clearance
The Destroyer Capability Enhancement Team
Under the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) program, Australia’s Hobart class destroyers — HMA Ships Hobart, Brisbane and Sydney — will receive advancements that will boost capability. This includes new state-of-the-art technology, integration of a Tomahawk cruise missile system and an upgraded Aegis combat system.
