Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: Glasgow, Scotstoun. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £52,00 (dependent on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to gather, analyse, and validate both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Develop a solid understanding of current business processes and systems to assess how new requirements align with existing functionality and architecture
  • Create clear and comprehensive requirements documentation or user stories to support development and systems integration
  • Facilitate workshops to explore user needs, agree on solutions, and produce high quality outputs
  • Analyse and model as-is and to-be processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and technical teams to design practical, effective solutions
  • Ensure development teams have timely access to well defined requirements to support delivery within agreed timelines

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a technical or change environment
  • Strong documentation skills, including requirements specs, user stories, and process flows
  • Confident in engaging diverse stakeholder groups at all levels and facilitating workshops or meetings
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex requirements between business and technical teams

Desirable:

  • Certifications such as BCS Business Analysis, IIBA CCBA/CBAP
  • Experience in implementing and/or adherence to change management processes and principles

IM&T Business Analyst Team

Would you like to contribute to the future of IT within complex warships? We currently have a vacancy for a Business Analyst to be based at our sites in Glasgow, with the opportunity for hybrid working as well.

Our Business Analyst team within IM&T is at the heart of delivering solutions for Naval Ship programmes, such as the current T26 Frigate Programme. We work closely with stakeholders to translate complex operational needs into clear, actionable IT requirements, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with programme objectives.
