JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this role is to Manage the integration and improvement of Technical Services’, while ensuring strict compliance with Continuing Airworthiness (CA) requirements, Approved Data requirements, RSAF Instructions and maintaining appropriate independence from the AMOs.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Management of all technical services delivered by H&AT – across Cirrus SR22, Pilatus PC21, Hawk Mk65/A and Hawk Mk165 platforms, components (including engines), Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and MetCal.
· Management of Materiel Deficiency Reports, airworthiness investigation and emerging issues.
· Establishment, development, review, amendment (CAME 1.4.3) and management of all platform AMPs (CAME 1.7).
· Support the CAMO’s Reliability Programme, including investigations, reviewing proposed recommendations to amend AMP and reviewing reports.
· Management of platforms’ Airworthiness Directives (AD / TCTO / TI), including reviews of draft AD / TCTO / TI and authorisation for use (CAME 1.6).
· Management of provision of Modifications’ approved data and equipment, including proof / trial installations as required (CAME 1.8 & 1.9).
· Management of each aircraft types’ Technical Log (CAME 1.1.2).
· Management of Cirrus SR22 Mimium Equipment List or equivalent (CAME 1.1.3).
· The reporting of all ‘significant occurrences’ to Dir M&CA within 24-hours.
· Management of aircraft Structural Inspections, Corrosion Control, Reliability and
· Engine Health Monitoring (CAME 1.3.2).
· Management of aircraft Inspection Standards (CAME 1.3.4).
· Management of CA records for all O&AT platforms, including on-line and archives.
· Management of O&AT platforms’ Technical Log.
· Manage the provision of approved data, the AMO Libraries & associated display equipment to the AMOs (CAME 1.2).
· Management of the review and implementation, as appropriate, of any additional M&CA Directorate requirements.
· Oversight of the AMOs management of ‘new’ defects not previously observed on the aircraft and not detailed in approved data (CAME 1.10).
· Responsible for the line management of Technical Services Executives, including:
· Competence assessment and review.
· Professional development and career development.
· Provision of suitable & sufficient facilities / equipment.
· Support to H&AT and CAMO succession and deputising planning.
· Actively manage the development of Saudi National expertise in Technical
· Operations through coaching and mentoring as appropriate, iaw H&AT Saudisation and Succession Plans.
· Conduct performance reviews, coach and mentor personnel as necessary to support their professional and career development.
· Deputise in periods of absence for O&AT Head of Continuing Airworthiness, with a valid Letter of Delegation.
· Instigate and manage regular ‘Lessons Learned’ reviews and apply the outcomes to future forums.
· Proactively manage own Personal Development Report (PDR) and Succession Development Plan (SDP) as appropriate.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential:
· A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or an aviation technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, OR Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
· Extensive experience in Technical Services within an aircraft maintenance and CA environment, including significant direct experience of supporting and maintaining fleets of aircraft.
· Previous experience in a relevant management role.
Desirable:
· NVQ5/BTEC/HND or Degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.
· Chartered Engineer with an appropriate professional institute such as Saudi Council of Engineers, Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.
· Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
· Broad experience of PT21, PtM and Pt14 regulatory environments in both the civil (FAA/EASA) and Military Context (UK-MAA, RSAF).
