Job Title: Degree Apprentice Manufacturing Engineer Graduate Location: Glasgow Salary: Starting from £23,286 with annual progression through the scheme duration. What you will be doing: During your apprenticeship you will work across a number of disciplines such as Build Line Support, Manufacturing Build Planning, Systems, Jigs and Tools, Governance, Dimensional Management, Continuous Improvement etc. The focus is on the design, development and operation of integrated systems of production in order to obtain high quality and competitive products such as handling equipment, machine tools, robots or computers and networks. The role works between Engineering and Operations and interprets the Engineering outputs, such as drawings, tooling and documentation in order that Operations can undertake the build of the surface warships efficiently and effectively. For those people who have a passion for engineering, science and maths, then these skills would be used when working with mechanics, materials, instrumentation and measurements, pneumatics, energy conversions etc. To be a successful Manufacturing Engineer, having skills and a passion for problem-solving, team working, IT, analytics, being curious, being able to communicate and having attention to detail would be essential in this area and would be further developed during the scheme. Specific activities could include: The role of a Manufacturing Engineer at BAE Systems Naval Ships is based on core industrial engineering and mechanical engineering skills, integrating various facilities and systems in order to produce quality products.
