Job title: Mechanical Lead – Fluid Systems
Location: Warton/Brough/Samlesbury/Preston or Nationwide with travel to Northern region; We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £54,793 – £60,326 (Commensurate with on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Creating a target state vision for your capability area based on the latest engineering best practice which supports the overall GCAP Programme objectives and Digital Engineering Vision
- Innovating and delivering the engineering processes, technology, people and culture required by your capability area to develop the GCAP product
- Co-designing and delivering the product development solution (processes, methods, tools, technology, people, data) alongside software vendor partners, internal engineering function and project stakeholders and other product owners
- Leading business change, including communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, building coalitions and creating urgency
- Building and leading a multi-disciplinary team to develop and deliver the solutions required by the GCAP Programme
- Liaising with international and UK partners to discuss, agree and deploy a solution works across the whole GCAP enterprise
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Ability to analyse information and apply engineering judgement to solve problems
- Be comfortable working with ambiguity, challenging established thinking, innovating, creating new ways of working and leading change
- Proven experience in an Engineering Discipline role
- Professional Qualification: Relevant Engineering/STEM degree (BEng or Higher)
- Experience of leading small teams
Desirable:
- Professional registration
- Experience of different stages of the Product Lifecycle – Concept Design through to Integration and Test
- Development of processes, methods and toolsets used in the product development process and Knowledge of Flowmaster (Siemens), & Team Centre Unified
- Proven experience in an Engineering Discipline role
