Job Title: Principal Manufacturing Technology Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and supporting complex Manufacturing Technology projects throughout their full lifecycle including performing initial research and market scans, proof of concepts, pilots and full implementation projects
- Working collectively in a team, developing and implementing projects to improve the Submarines programme, supporting, developing and leading team members as required
- Liaising with and managing internal and external stakeholders such as inter-business teams, BAE sectors including Group and suppliers
- Applying problem solving techniques to progress technology solutions to improve Manufacturing & Construction processes
- Producing and reviewing Manufacturing Technology documents to support the projects through their lifecycle and ensure they are stored appropriately
- Developing and supporting business justifications to implement new and replacement technologies into Manufacturing Production areas and developing the Cost Benefit from doing so
- Developing and supporting technology road maps
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Level 4 Qualification in a related subject or equivalent experience
- Heavy Manufacturing experience and knowledge
- Experience in leading process improvements or changes into an organisation
- Experience of developing business cases or justifications
- Experience engaging with cross functional teams & external stakeholders
- Knowledge of Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
Desirable
- Knowledge of operational technology, SCADA & Industrial Internet of Things
- Knowledge and experience in Welding or other key (Submarines) manufacturing processes
- Experience of Research & Development activities
