JOB PURPOSE 

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this role is to Coordinate responsibilities as delegated by line manager, as follows:

  • Supervise the resources and staff under their control to ensure the timely and efficient accomplishment of the task in accordance with all appropriate manuals, procedures and technical directives.
  • Follow & identify deficiencies in and recommend improvements to existing maintenance directives, regulations and technical orders.
  • Conduct and supervise on the job training of Saudi Nationals in accordance with the Saudi National Training Programme.
  • Assist with the local administration including but not limited to the following HR policy matters, grievance, discipline, safety health & environment and sickness absence management.
  • Assess staff competencies and identify training and development needs through the ePDR and PIP process.
  • Deputise for the Superintendent as required.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Work Direction:

In this role the job holder will report to the following:

  • RSAF Policies and procedures
  • M&CA Mandates
  • Rects Maintenance Manager

Decision-Making Authority:

The job holder may be required to make decisions on the following:

  • The incumbent will support their line manager in the management and delivery of serviceable engines to Tabuk. He will be expected to make all decisions regarding engine maintenance and scheduling input. Aircraft maintenance scheduling
  • Maintaining competency and ensuring SQEP levels are within the mandated limits
  • Scheduling of personal time to maintain the operational requirement

Planning / Organising:

The Job Holder will undertake the following activities as a minimum:

  • The position holder will be responsible for ensuring that BAE Systems maintenance support is delivered effectively to meet RSAF requirements and mitigate any activities likely to prejudice maintenance or safety, whilst remaining within the constraints the RSAF may apply to the Hawk Fleet.
  • You will be responsible to provide support to the AMO to ensure the delivery of serviceable engines and related components.
  • They shall be responsible for themselves and their peers, including training technicians and maintaining a strong safety culture whilst fault finding, repairing and delivering serviceable assets to maintain the customers daily flying programme.
  • n addition, the Engines Supervisor is to provide accurate and up to date information to their Line Managers to ensure the ETIC schedule is achieved, ensuring solutions to any arising issues are identified and rectified during maintenance activities.
  • The management of repairable components into the supply repair channel, and ensuring their team maintain efficient and effective supply discipline.
  • Ensure the procedural compliance governing Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system.
  • Practical hands on experience in Adour Engine Deep Strip.

Report Preparation:

  • The jobholder shall be responsible for preparing progress reports to meet strict periodic deadlines for completion.
  • The subject matter is both sensitive and confidential in nature. The destination of each is to be agreed with their line manager before issuing.
  • The jobholder shall prepare presentations as required and present them to senior BAE management and RSAF staff.
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An appreciation of BAEMMA / ORACLE Tracking System.

Statistics:

The jobholder shall be able to assist produce analysis of periodic statistics and measures of performance, which result in appropriate reviews, recommendations, management action and associated reports

 

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA,

OR

  • Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.

RECRUITMENT

Essential

 

  • Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type 
  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required.
  • Holds 2nd signature.
  • Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.

Desirable 

  • Have experience working knowledge of EASA Part 145 & 147.
  • Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures.
  • Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
  • Proven supervisory experience within the area of definition.
