Job Title: Commercial Officer

Salary: $84,588 – $95,478

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the Manager of Industrial & Technological Benefit (ITB) with the preparation, implementation and maintenance of the CSC (Canadian Surface Combatant) ITB Management and Offset Plans, subsidiary plans and deliverables
• Supporting the Manager of ITB with the management of all aspects of BAE Systems’ Offset process & comply with contractual requirements
• Translating offset objectives into action plans and ensure all offset commitments are achieved.
• Supporting the generation and provision of internal management briefings on offset status and help to generate external offset reports
• Supporting the Manager of ITB to develop sources of ITB credits through discussions with government agencies, key suppliers, defence & marine industry associations, other business units within BAE Systems and Canadian industry
• Supporting the Manager of ITB with communications internally and externally with;

– Irving Shipbuilding Inc. (ISI)

– Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED)

– Regional Development Agencies (RDAs)

– Canadian industry

Your skills and experiences:

• General knowledge of offset principles
• Exceptional business acumen and understanding of business transactions (e.g. purchase orders, licensing, technology transfer etc.)
• Commercial awareness
• Ability to develop innovative solutions to solve issues
• Customer Relationship Management skills

The Commercial team:

You will be working within a small close knit team in the commercial sector engaging with stakeholders across the wider business and collaborating on multiple short term/long term projects with the UK team and Canadian government. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
